In light of the difficulties that the research community has encountered in conducting research and preparing papers in the past months since the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, and considering that the pandemic’s impacts on gatherings may continue well into the future, the InGARSS 2020 organizing committee has decided that holding a successful and engaging symposium as planned is not possible.
InGARSS 2020 has been rescheduled to become InGARSS 2021, and will likely be held in Dec 2021 assuming the world has returned to a situation where in-person gatherings are more certain and safe. Papers already submitted to InGARSS 2020 will go through the review process as planned should the authors choose to publish in IEEE Xplore. We are extending the submission deadline to July 15, 2020 for the convenience of those authors. Otherwise, we understand if the authors would prefer to withdraw their paper and submit it elsewhere.
While we share your disappointment of not seeing each other in person in December, the committee is excited to transform the situation into something positive and to restructure the event to become a virtual on-line multi-day ‘ Indian Geoscience and Remote Sensing Fair, including exhibits, tutorials, lectures, discussion forums, GRSS celebrity interviews, competitions and challenges with prizes, depending on the interest in them. The details will be worked out in the coming months, and communicated. We anticipate that the dates for the Fair will remain Dec 1-5, 2020. We look forward to seeing you there online.
Wishing you the best of health and good preparation for InGARSS 2021!
